​Introduction:

Formative tests are a set of structured tests in a number of educational areas, not less than three tests per academic year for each targeted class. Said tests are meant to provide decision makers with a clear picture of the strengths and weaknesses of students' levels, and thus guide decisions aiming at improving and developing the learning processes.



Test Objectives:

1. Providing scientific, objective and comprehensive indicators for officials in charge of education in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to help judge the quality of the educational system.
2. Identify the extent of mastery of male and female students of taught skills and knowledge in the targeted educational areas


Parts Tests:
Formative tests target the fields of mathematics, science and Arabic.

Targeted Classes:
Formative tests are applied to students of general education in public and private schools in the fields of mathematics, science and Arabic, for the first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth and ninth grades.


​​​Test Preparation:

Formative tests are developed in the following learning areas:
Mathematics,Science, and Arabic Language.​



Test Registration
No registration is needed for these tests. A sample of schools and students is selected based on certain standards.



For Whom is this Test?
Formative Tests are administered to K-12 students in public and private schools. Students in the first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighths and ninth
grades are tested in Mathematics, Science, and Arabic Language.



​​Reports are written to show test results including statistics, data analysis, and recommendations. These reports consist of the following:

  • Executive summary
  • A report to the Ministry of ​​Education
  • A report to school leaders and ​teachers
  • A report to the Media
  • A technical report
